Privacy

Last updated: this page reflects the current implementation.

What we collect

We record aggregate usage events: which tool pages are viewed, which outbound links are clicked, which categories are opened, and what is searched for. These events are stored without cookies, without user accounts, and without any advertising identifier.

IP addresses

We do not store raw IP addresses. Where an address is needed to rate-limit submissions, it is hashed with SHA-256 before storage and cannot be reversed back to an address.

Submissions

If you submit a tool and choose to give an email address, it is stored alongside that submission so an editor can contact you about it. It is not used for marketing and is not shared.

Cookies

The public site sets no cookies. A single session cookie is set only when an administrator signs in to the admin area; it is HTTP-only, signed, and expires after 12 hours.

Outbound links

Clicking “Visit tool” records the click and then redirects you to the tool's own website. We send no referrer information to the destination. What that site does once you arrive is governed by its own privacy policy.

Third-party data

Tool metadata is collected from public APIs and feeds. Where a tool page shows an icon, it may be fetched from the tool's own domain or a public favicon service, which means that service sees the request.

Removal

If you own a listed tool and want its entry corrected or removed, contact us through the submission form and an editor will action it.
